Eve's introdution!

Self-introduction
My English name is Eve, 26 years old, and I come from Houpi, Tainan county. There are seven members in my family, my parents, sister, brother (including his son and daughter), and I. They are all happy to know that I have this honor to study here, and I, without doubt, appreciated their blessings. I have been working in a child-care centre for a period of time, and now I come to school by train everyday. I am glad to have this opportunity to learn English with my classmates here. But you may wonder why I decided to study again, especially in this changing and uncertain society where people couldn't get a job easily.
There are two main reasons why I have decided to attend Southern Taiwan University of Technology? First of all, I want to enrich my life with advanced study, especially in the field of English. Eight years ago when I was in medical college, I was too young to realize how precious time is and how hard I should study; therefore, I wasted too much of it and quitted studying when having finished the third year in the college. At age of 18, I had a job in a clothing salon (store) where I could put my beautiful clothes on and talked to any kind of our customers. Actually, it was, I think, a good job for me, and I earned some money myself to meet the needs of daily expenditures. The experiences I got from the job brought some ideas into my mind: Was this the job that deserved to be pursued with all my life? Was this lifestyle all I wanted? Undoubtedly, I told to myself, “there must be something special I want from this world,” and “I want to find the answers from the school to satisfy my desire of knowledge.”

The second reason was the encouragement from one of my good friends and I were happy to meet again. I told her that I wanted to learn English. “If you are interested in English, you should study it with the best of your ability,” she answered, and encouraged me to attend junior college. So I planed to come back to school while I was 22 years old. After four years of studying, I graduated from night school of Nan Jeon College. Having made up my mind this year, I chose Southern Taiwan University of Technology to pursue advanced study in English. In addition, this university is one of the good schools in southern part of Taiwan, and I feel I will receive good training in English, my chosen field.

I hope one day I can communicate with any foreigner from other countries by speaking and writing. I also hope I can read any kind of books which can cultivate myself and enrich my life. Besides, as we know, there are four skills in English we have to learn: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. But in my opinion, writing is the most important of all because if you can write well, you can speak well too. It can also improve your reading ability. I sincerely hope the teacher can give me some advice whenever she checks my writing. Anyway, “Practice makes perfect.” I will do my best to make my dream come true.
